2025: A Tough Year, but Exciting News Ahead

2025 has been a strange year for the audio industry. After a strong first quarter, global sales slumped sharply, largely due to new U.S. tariffs that hit nearly every sector. Many companies raised prices to offset falling U.S. sales, which then hurt their business in Europe and Asia. The result: a quieter-than-usual industry.

But while things have slowed elsewhere, we at Audio Origami have been hard at work.

Next year marks our 20th anniversary, and we wanted to do something special.

At first, we considered creating an all-new tonearm to sit between the PU7 and PU8. But since the PU8 already represents the next step in tonearm design, we decided instead to trickle some of that technology down into the PU7.

Here’s what we’ve come up with:

New G2S Armtube Design: We reversed the PU8’s carbon-aluminium composite into an aluminium-carbon construction, suspending the carbon tube inside the aluminium shell using a special taped epoxy process at each end and then filled the void with epoxy glue. This creates an incredibly stiff and inert armtube. A titanium option is also available for those who require extra effective mass). We call this armtube GTS (Generation Two Suspended).

A slimmer version of MMADS now isolates the wiring, preventing resonance against the armtube and all PU7's will now be grounded from the headshell.

The result? The stiffest, quietest, most inert PU7 we’ve ever built.

We've also decided that this wont be a limited edition. It's such a step up that we have decided that all PU7s going forward will include the GTS armtube, and there will also be options for upgrading your existing PU7 to the G2S armtube.

The great news is that even with the GTS armtube, there will be NO price increases across the PU7 range. This anniversary is about celebrating you, our customers, because you’re the reason we’ve made it 20 years. Thank you for sticking with us, and here’s to the next chapter!

Pure Fidelity Turntables

From September 2025, Audio Origami will be the sole UK dealer for Pure Fidelity turntables. 

Pure Fidelity turntables blend the refinement of suspended decks with the authority of high-mass systems through a unique hybrid design that controls resonance and delivers an ultra-low noise floor.

Hand-made in Canada, each turntable is crafted from ultra-dense wood composite, premium alloys, and real wood veneers, with each layer decoupled by bespoke IsoAcoustic devices.

Designed specifically for Audio Origami tonearms, the Harmony and Symphony models come with a choice of PU7 Titanium or PU8 Reference tonearms.

The result is an heirloom system that is both visually and sonically exceptional, delivering absolute stability, superior isolation, and a deeply immersive musical experience.
