AUDIO ORIGAMI
Little Wing
Moving Coil Cartridge
THE JOY GENERATOR.
For over twenty years, Audio Origami has been defined by the singular pursuit of mechanical integrity in the service of music.
When we set out to build our first moving coil cartridge, we refused to simply badge an off-the-shelf design or produce another lean, etched transducer masquerading as “high resolution.”
We wanted dynamic drive, tonal density, and absolute involvement and to achieve that, we partnered with Switzerland’s HiFiction AG, the master engineers behind EMT. Little Wing combines HiFiction’s reference-grade generator architecture with Audio Origami’s distinct acoustic philosophy: uncompromising build quality, balanced with a voice that prioritises the recording’s emotional core.

Precision Engineering.
Swiss Execution.
A moving coil cartridge is fundamentally an electromechanical instrument. Without rigid geometry and low moving mass, nuance is lost before the signal ever leaves the headshell.
Little Wing is built on a rock-solid mechanical platform:
The HiFiction Generator
Precision-wound coils operating within an optimised magnetic circuit deliver impressive transient speed, ultra-low distortion, and superb channel separation.
Solid Boron Cantilever
Chosen for its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio and acoustic propagation speed, boron transmits micro-groove modulations directly to the coils without the flex or damping compromises of aluminium.
MicroRidge Stylus Profile
Its microscopic scanning radius mirrors the geometry of an original cutting lathe stylus. It tracks the deepest, most intricate high-frequency groove contours with vanishingly low tracing distortion, extending record life while retrieving buried ambient detail.
Rejecting the “Analytical” Trap.
A moving coil cartridge is fundamentally an electromechanical instrument. Without rigid geometry and low moving mass, nuance is lost before the signal ever leaves the headshell.
Little Wing is built on a rock-solid mechanical platform:
Over the past decade, the market has become obsessed with artificial detail. Cartridges are routinely voiced bright to stand out on a showroom floor, but that exaggerated top end leaves the midrange thin, hollow, and fatiguing.
The novelty wears off quickly. That artificial edge strips the body from acoustic instruments, turns vocal sibilance into a distraction, and makes aggressive pressings unlistenable. It turns listening into an exercise in analysis rather than an emotional release.
We voiced Little Wing to push back against that trend.
Rather than dissecting your record collection under a harsh spotlight, Little Wing draws you into the performance. The midrange is textured, dimensional, and harmonically complete, giving vocals, brass, and strings their natural weight and body. The low end is fast, authoritative, and properly damped, driving rhythm and momentum without bloat. High frequencies are airy, open, and extended, yet free from the glare that causes listener fatigue.
It delivers scale. It delivers genuine micro-detail. It throws a wide, deep, and layered stage. But above all, it locks onto the music as a whole and gets your foot tapping.

Real-World Compatibility.
Many ultra-low-output moving coils demand extreme gain levels (65–70 dB+), often exposing the noise floor, hum, and component limitations of even very good phono stages.
Little Wing generates a healthy 0.5 mV output, giving your phono preamplifier a robust, clean signal to work with. By operating comfortably within standard MC gain stages (around 58–62 dB), it ensures an exceptionally quiet background, wider dynamic headroom, and effortless drive across a wide variety of modern and vintage phono stages.
Fly on Little Wing.
Just like its namesake, Little Wing isn’t trying to impress you with technical acrobatics. It’s about touch, tone, and timing. It’s about blending intricate detail with irresistible rhythm. It’s about allowing the music to fly.
Little Wing is designed to pull you straight into the music. It’s designed to make you play record after record. It’s designed to make you remember why you fell in love with analogue in the first place.
